Hey guys, I took a gap year and am now applying to do zoology at harper. I'm going to apply in the next few weeks but am confused as to how the clearing process works. Do I just ring up harper and ask them to give me a place?

Also, if anyone has applied to harper through clearing did they ask you particular questions/did you get offered a place?

Ringing them up would be a good first step. It may be that the uni will want you to make a UCAS application, so that they can easily view your grades/PS etc. If you make a UCAS application, the uni will then make a decision and give you a verbal offer. You then have to add this to UCAS (usually the uni will give you a deadline for this). If they don't need you to make a UCAS application, they can accept you using a "record of prior acceptance" but if that happens, the uni will talk you through what you need to do.

When you ring, it would be a good idea to have your grades available and be able to talk about why you want to do the course, and why you like their uni as well.

In clearing, places are often filled on a first come, first served basis, so if vacancies are being advertised now, you should ring tomorrow. If you leave things "a few weeks" you may end up being disappointed.
