Thoughts on Sports therapy with foundation year at Derby? It looks like a lovely uni from what I’ve seen of it online. Wasn’t in my original application, but after a second look it seems like a really great place. What are the people like? What’s the nightlife like? What’s the general social athmosphere? Are halls good? How are the sports facilities? I know there is an Olympic weightlifting society, do they hold comps?

Any responses would be appreciated.

Hi @FreddieNorris,

Thank you for your questions in regards to our BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation with Foundation Year course. We have a foundation open day on Wednesday 7 August 2019 at 3pm-7pm, if you would like to visit us. This
event gives you the opportunity to speak with an academic and have a tour of our campus and accommodation. If you would like more information on this event, please visit https://www.derby.ac.uk/open-days/

The City of Derby has lots to offer in terms of city life and countryside. If you would like to see more, take a look here - https://www.derby.ac.uk/life/city-countryside/

There is a wide range of award-winning accommodation here at Derby. The University of Derby owns all of our halls so this ensures you will be staying in good quality accommodation. To view your options, visit - https://www.derby.ac.uk/life/accommodation/

Our £10.8 million sports centre is on-site and offers an excellent facility for training. We have a Human Performance Unit, which offers cutting-edge technology that can be used to analyse techniques in a variety of sports (https://www.derby.ac.uk/business-ser...formance-unit/).
We have 150 sports clubs and societies, but if it is the Olympic weightlifting society that you are interested in, it doesn't hold any competitions here on-site. They are linked through the British Weightlifting and attend competitions organised by the association. You can read more here -
https://www.bucs.org.uk/page.asp?sec...=Weightlifting

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks

Jess
