Are you applying for film studies or film production degrees?

film production
If you have any film set experience then that won’t hurt to mention it. It’s not required though - your showreel will be much more important.

If you’re struggling with what to write about then try researching more about the courses that you’re applying to and the film industry in general (screenskills is a good place to start ). Think about your creative process and how you have approached films in your showreel, any aspects of working in a team to produce a film that you found enjoyable or challenging and how you might approach it differently with hindsight, see if there’s any bfi or screenskills events that you can attend.
