Im 18, just about to begin a 3 year engineering apprenticeship and i am hoping for anyone who has either been in a simular situation or has any life experience to share some advice.
In general, i dont know how to integrate to adult life, i dont know what taxes i have to pay, what services like the ddntist or nhs i have to change, pensions advice, insurance, i am kinda confused going into everything adult. Can anyone share thier story or point out the basic neccesities for a 18 yr old living with his dad in uk. Cheers

If you are living with your dad you will be fine! He may need to check whether he loses any benefits (like child benefit) now you have left school.

Do you have a bank account - that is important. You don't need to worry about taxes and pensions (your employer will sort all the basics). No need to worry about the NHS - you might want to make sure you have an NHS dentist and be sure to arrange regular check ups.

Have a look at how much you earn and how much this increases during your apprenticeship. Try to make a budget and don't go mad and overspend. Avoid borrowing money - lots and lots of young people get in serious trouble as they borrow too much/ get cars they can't afford.
