Limitations of apparatus and techniques

Trying to complete my biology coursework! after churning out over 5000 words this weekend Im finally onto my evaluation, however Im struggling to find limitiations to talk about which would warrant marks, as my tutor told me that careless technique, insufficient data and/or inappropriate equipment references do not class as "proper" limitations..

can any one give me pointers on what limitations I could write about??

the expierment is the effect of temperature on yeast growth, but the limitations can be general - as long as I can relate them to this damn coursework!!

many thanks

Umm for apparatus there are always quantitiative limitations. If you know how accurately your measurement apparatus is, you can calculate percentage error.

Thanks - I was thinking about that - I remember doing it in the few weeks of chemistry AS I started before running away scared and dropping it forever

Check out my post on enthalpy change. just look down the list in this forum. i mention errors of different apparatus and how to work out percentage error. in place of volume you can just use the measured value.

The range of temperatures you were able to test was presumably limited

On your graphs be sure to include error boxes, as it will ensure you have taken into account innaccuracies when taking results and it will make it a lot easier to find a line of best fits.

thanks a lot guys - just finished it and had lots to write about

also added error bar thingies to my graphs

Hopefully I'll get some good marks now (as usual its only worth 30 ums *grumble* how can like 7000 words only be worth that :'( )
