PGCE in History, with an Archaeology Degree

I wasn't sure where to post this, so hopefully this is in the right place...

I'm just going into my second year at sixth form, studying History, English Literature and either English Language/Biology (not sure which to drop!)... In the long run I'm hoping to teach secondary school History... Just wanting to know if anyone knows if I could get onto a PGCE History course with a degree in Archaeology rather than History?

Thanks.
Yup you shouldnt have any problem with that, I am also hoping to do a PGCE in history (though applying in september) and all universities I have looked at will take people with Archaeology (and politics, and classics lol) degrees

Depends on where you apply - I know for my current university, the requirement for the PGCE History is that your UG degree must be either History or a subject that has had 50% History within it
i have an ex who's going onto do a history pgce at newcastle this september and he has a degree in ancient history and archaeology so you should be fine. xx
