Lawyer/Science

So I was wondering if there's anyone who's done a degree in science e.g. Biomedical science and then went on to do law. I am aware you have to do a law degree too. I was wondering if anyone could give me an insight in becoming a lawyer in the science industry.

Bound to be as 50% of entrants are non lawyers.
You dont have to do a law degree, just the conversion course which is an extra year.
You might become a lawyer in any of the areas law firms offer.
You could also become a specialist working for a firm with clients who are in the biomedicine field.
Alternatively you could specialise in areas that biomedicine might touch upon, be it protection of intellectual property rights or litigation. Alternativelyu you could just work in house as a lawyer for a big drugs company.

Scotland doesnt offer the GDL as far as I know. Looks like you would have to do a senior status law degree 2 years.
You didnt mention you were in Scotland in your op.

Yes Scots have their own system of Law. You can cross qualify but that means more exams.
The GDL helps you on the path to English Law.
Cheers. So I'll need to do a law degree?

That is the most straightforward way if you intent to be a Scottish lawyer. Perhaps try and get some experience in some of the commercial firms in Scotland. Research which ones do intellectual property law or who have as clients any of the pharmaceutical firms in Scotland.
Thanks I was just curious
