Oh, thought it was. The toy boy one?

I just don't get the point of sharing depressing stuff like this; net negative in my eyes.

It's not "obsession". It's that the world itself is a depressing place, mate.
The world is also a boring place where most of the time nothing happens. You don't see people sharing stories which reflect this; as people choose to share stuff which is of interest to them. People are interested in hearing stuff which is dark and depressing. For me, I would prefer not to see it. The way this site is set up, I have no choice but to.

Where does it say there are two older kids in the news article?

I think this was likely deliberate

the father has two older kids, maybe mother was busy with them.

or the mother was ill and therefore bedridden.

I was reading the story on another news article. I think it was The Sun. mentioned he had two older kids from a previous relationship.

Absolutely never, as I said further up the thread. I would also never leave the kids to go out drinking, as in a certain famous case. Your kids are your responsibility. In fact my parents were so reluctant to babysit, I think I only went out without them about twice in 3 years

Negativity and controversy sells. A vast majority of the population find positive stories boring and uninteresting. And seeing stories like this I guess is just a cheap thrill for many.

It's one of many parts of human nature that I find pretty repulsive. But this is who we are.

How do you forget your own baby?😕
It's quite a common thing; leaving them at the park, pre-school etc. Unfortunately on occasion it does end in tragedy like this though.

I think people forget about their kids more often than we'd like to admit. In most cases, people soon remember about their kids and never mention to anyone that they almost forgot their kid one time. This guy unfortunately forgot completely and went to work thinking he had dropped them off to daycare. I cannot imagine the turmoil he is going through mentally. I think it was a genuine, honest mistake. He'll have to live with that one moment of absent-mindedness for the rest of his life. That's punishment enough imo. I hope they go easy on him.

Even if it was a genuine accident i'm sorry to seem harsh but the father deserves a life sentence for this either way. his stupidity cost those babies their lives. i'm hoping it really was a genuine accident but, accident or not, if i was the judge he'd be getting the maximum punishment
