Gap Year Goals!

It looks as if i'm going to be taking a gap year and reapplying for 09 entry. Im going to be working full time and try to get a few modules sorted out.

my goals ive set myself for my gap year are:

Earn as much money as possible(obviously)
Go on a couple of holidays
Start to learn a new language(either french or spanish not sure which would be more useful and havent got a clue how much i could learn in a year)
Get some good offers for 09 entry
MAKE THE GRADES FOR THE OFFERS!
I'm considering winning the lottery as well

anyone else got anything set?

I'm taking a gap year placement, so it's pretty similar stuff, just that I'm living away for a year.

1. Save xxx of cash (depends on rent and after I start budgeting)
2. Reapply and get some Unconditional offers, and frame them
3. Learn to drive
4. Learn to cook
5. Visit friends at unis
6. Don't forget too much maths
7. Grow

Thanks for this. I think I'm gonna give it some serious thought, because a year is actually ages and learning a new language seems quite cool.

deloitte i applied round october time. with the final offer in feb. Details are here http://scholars.deloitte.co.uk/index.cfm

It was basically, application, online test, first interview, email task, group task, final inteview offer

Temping wise i did some temping at Canary Wharf last summer and the people who i did it thru said they can set me something up with Societe Generale in Summer so fingers crossed.

what's an AHA course?

-get into the uni I want (and get good results)
-learn and become brilliant at Spanish
-teach English in Honduras
-work in Spain
-learn guitar or some sort of interesting skill...kung fu?! (ok this probably won't happen)
-visit friends at uni
-do some art
-grow up/become more confident
-get fit

i feel quite unprepared :frown:
its difficult cos i know what i want to do, its just i dont know how to do it

1. earn hopefully up to 6,000 so ive got that to take to uni with me in 09
2. work full time (library, something media related)
3. write to lots of magz/papers for some work experience
4. get accppted into some bbc work experience
5. learn to drive
6. go to france
7. a weekened in brighton (lol)
8. apply for TVYP next year
9. start a solo music project

but most importantly

10. decide if the course ive applied for is the right course or repply again this year. if I get a B + in literature im considering changing my degree, as journalism, media and sociology at cardiff looks perfect.

i really want to go into a music related media field..possibly music journalism.

aside from writing to music magz, what other work experience should i try out for??

gah, media stuff in a gap year really isnt the right thing :frown:
