im taking my A level OCR synoptic paper next thursday and am reeeli struggling! we have had 2 reali bad teachers for the gothic section and i dont know how to tackle the unseen! any tips would be welcome!
But I've also read in preparation:
Dracula - Bram Stoker
The Bloody Chamber - Angela Carter
The Wasp Factory - Ian Banks
And I'm going to go through Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, plus a couple of other short stories like The Yellow Wallpaper and The Fall of the House of Usher.
I've been told to write up a list of themes like sublime, uncanny, role of women etc, then relate it to FRANKENSTEIN first. Thats the set text and the focus should be on that, even though the spec says compare and contrast, in terms of content of novels it should be 60% set text and 20% for 2 other texts
Then with each theme you have related to Frankenstein, try and find stuff in your other novels. My main one is dracula, because i love it
