Hi

Is a NAT5 Grade D in Mathematics considered a fail?

I just need clarification as I'm unsure why it would be listed if it was a fail.

Thanks

Technically you get more tariff points with a D than an F, however they barely mean anything anymore. You will most likely not be allowed to sit the Higher if you get below a C, hence why it’s classified as a fail.

Thank you. My daughter isn't taking Higher maths, so it's not needed. Is it actually classed as a Nat5 qualification, with only the units being awarded?

Yes, it is a Nat 5 award, and is more than the units being awarded
