People argue that having a second referendum is undemocratic because people initially voted for brexit and you can’t just overturn it. However, in 1975 the British people voted to remain in the eu, so the vote in 2016 can surely be seen as “undemocratic” by the leavers logic

No, we voted to remain, and we've remained for over 40 years. We haven't even left yet. If we go back to before we joined the EU and voted to join, we don't haven't even joined yet and then people called for another referendum would that be fair? Seems a bit silly considering what people voted for was never even carried out.

No!

In 1975 the British public voted to remain in the Common market, the EU did not exist untill 1993 I believe off the top of my head.

Furthermore there was a government secret document which was detailed how the British public should be sheltered from the full information of membership of the then EEC with single figure members at the time. AKA the in campaign lied.

The huge changes in the EEC to the EU and political union and all it entails was never put to the British electorate.

Again this post shows a lack of knowledge of the political system by the OP! Unfortunately quite common place for remainers to prove they don't possess sufficient knowledge of politics to make their decision of what way they would vote in 2016!
