At 18 a person is an adult and responsible for their actions. I would not have an affair with a 16-17 year old, as you will most likely end up on the sex offenders register and/or in Jail.

I am not talking about sexual harassment, why would you go to jail?? I have known girls that young who liked older men but didnt do anything because there is an odd stigma around it.

Most 16-17 year old girls I see are no different from women in their 20s physically.

They might not look it to you, but that doesn't mean they're not massively different, both physically and mentally.

A 19 year old dating a 16 year old can end up on the sex offenders register, this is a fact. Dating or sex or whatever should be done after 18, if you are having sex with a minor (below 18), you are very at risk with getting put on the sex offenders register and/or jail.

This is not true and even if it was, it is beside the point tbh. You don't have to have sex with someone to think they are attractive.

OP, be really careful here, a UK court will happily jail you for getting involved with a minor. All it takes is a case of "he touched me here and told me to be quiet" and you will have a ton of police at your doorstep. Avoid dealing with anyone under 18, why do you think teachers have such deep criminal background checks? Why do you think people on the sex offenders register can't be teachers?

It's not, many 19 year old have been put on sex offenders register for having sex with a minor.

Show us some evidence.

Any woman, 18 or 55, can call the police and tell them they have been touched inappropriately. There's nothing special about a 16 year old doing that. The age of consent in the UK is 16.
It's not wrong there are many hot 14-year-olds even but it is kind of deemed 'inappropriate' because they are young and impressionable.

Minor in this context being <16. 16-18 is legal, though still frowned upon by most.

I agree the age of consent is 16, but why on god's green earth do you want to involve yourself with someone under 18. Do you not realise how much hassle this causes when things go bad? It looks very dodgy for a 20 something year old to be having sex with a 16 year old regardless.
No sure if anon knows the legal age is 16
This is what Im talking about btw. This thread instantly attracted trolls who spread misinformation.

This. As much as it sucks to admit, but the legal system has a large inclination to believe a woman's claims (I'm talking about sexual assaults and rape claims here) without proof. Yes you should believe them, no you should not ruin someone's life without some decent proof.

Some of my teachers said that if someone was choking they would rather not help that child than risk having the child and/or their parents claiming some form of sexual harassment, which even if it's found to be false can easily ruin not only their teaching career, but also their life.

So like this person said if you are for whatever reason considering getting involved with a minor, take precautions, since minors are not exactly renowned for making great decisions when it comes to relationships.

Fair enough, but if they are not old enough to appear on Pornhub (under 18), it's best to have nothing to do with them.

All this is irrelevant to the thread. A lot of 18 year olds make those accusations, they didn't suddenly mature from 17 to 18. Yet somehow, nobody cares abbout 18 year olds?

It's impossible to discuss this issue rationally ffs.

I know what you are saying, and it makes no sense, but the law is the law. If you think it's ok to have sex with a 15 year old, you will end up in jail. I think it's safer to not even deal with anyone under 18, once they are an adult, the law is on your side. But having sex with someone under 18 can get their parents involved as well, if they claim rape and/or assault.
