area = \frac{1}{2} a b \sin C, where C is the angle between a and b.

Interestingly enough, I learnt this formula after completing A-level maths when I was helping my mate on a GCSE question.

EDIT: DAMN! Beaten by two people. My f38-ego is seriously deflated

way to remember it...probably the best way is the derivation for it surely? area of triangle = 1/2 base x height, height will be the length of a side multiplied by the sine of the angle between that side and the base..any other ways to remember? XD
