Hi
I've been thinking about my view on the whole mininum wage debate in America and whilst I have supported it before I've realised that a $15 mininum wage will subject the unskilled workers who previously worked $7.25 to fierce competition for their job. They'll likely lose against the people who were previously valued above $7.25 and so will probably lose their jobs. There will be a whole group of people who aren't worth $15 an hour and so will have no job at all. What do you think?

I don't necessarily think that's 100% true. I understand it may happen, but there are so many jobs that most people refuse to do due to lack of desirability/societal views of it not being respectable. So, unskilled workers will most likely still end up at those jobs.

Tbf I think I'm biased. My parents were factory workers when they came to the UK, and they got well below the minimum wage despite it genuinely being hard work.
