I was reading this rather bizarre article on another forum and I thought, I don't think so somehow. However I certainly know the best place to find out, over you you guys.

What is you opinion on ditching parliament and allowing the army to rule the country?

Well I won't lie, the only benefit of an authoritarian state is that everyone just shuts the **** up and agrees with the state and goes with the flow.

That's true but to be crude about it when the dildo is being rammed around I think it quite a bonus to have a voice to control where it goes!

Total bull**** article but I do wonder where the rebelliousness of the youth has gone, once a very long time ago young people stood for anti establishment causes, railing against the system, now the main concern seems to be maintaining the status quo.

Absolutely wet myself laughing mate, I'll never hear that song the same again

I can't agree with you at the moment, the limited agreement police of the student rooms won't allow me to rep you but . . Rep :congrats:

Unfortunately I don't think it's just the youth that have lost their rebellious side, this has disappeared accross all society. I believe this is a result of Thacherism and the political direction the country has taken since she changed the political landscape in this country, making socialism a dirty word. The destruction of trade unions, making it easier to unfairly dismiss people, slashing taxes which make foreign imports cheaper than home grown products the list goes on and on.

Margaret Thatcher is possibly the most successful political figure of all time regarding destruction of the left wing. She co-invented the common market, deregulated and destroyed the root of the working class's financial security while successfully portraying herself (wrongly) as a person of humble origins just before releasing her most successful policy her atomic bomb - the national curriculum.

It is her atomic bomb which only effects the lower middle and working classes turned education into an industry. Today, with the help of new Labour, itself an indirect accidental creation as a result of Margarets sucess of making socialism a dirty word, we have schools of middle aged and younger people educated in an industry funded by the EU and a direct result of thatchers successful policies, who actually think they are left wing and looking after the 'little man' while following right wing polices it's absolutely genius!

The irony is its the extreme right wing of the Tory party that are rising up to destroy the very thing that completely guarantees their ideal of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer via a capitalist global economy and the left that are trying to protect it!

Why thank you kind sir, and you may blame Thatcher but I'm blaming Simon ****ing Cowell for swamping the charts with soppy drivel and ****e and pushing a style of bland music that has unfortunately lead to the charts being dominated by R&B nobody's feat other nobody's thus driving genuinely talented musicians and groups into the sidelines and closing off what was a traditional outlet for young, disenfranchised people.

Populist and authoritarian are often just terms to refer to regimes that liberal elites don’t like but are popular with the people like Orban or Duterte.

In that sense yes I wish we had leaders like that.

Hang on a minute, we are not talking about how a word gets misused or misinterpreted by some polically insidious people. You are not actually saying that you wish to abolish democracy for state control or else with no obligation placed upon the state to listen/care about the publics views surely, are you?

I thought RNB stood for rhythm and blues not rap and bo****ks!

I think the death of the music industry can be attributed to many things not least the internet and the online gaming that the Internet brought. The decay was festering before way before Simon Cowell, remember the Stock Aitken and Waterman days, the talentless gunk they churned out?

Clearly there are a significant number of stupid people in the country. Why the hell would anyone want millitary rule.

I think a big problem in the Uk is we have had generations so use to freedom they have forgotten how great we have it in this country.
