Im thinking of applying to bio medical science at either Kington, KCL, Middlesex or Barts and Queen Mary. I am particularly interested in Kington as theyve sent students for placements at GlaxoSmithKline. A few question though;
Can you get summer placement?
Is the year placement paid well under or over 20k?
Is there a possibility for networking medicine GEP?
How important is the institute of biomedical sciences accreditation?
Has anyone experienced the placement year? if so how was it?

I cant answer most questions as im not at that uni, but to get a job in a lab you must be an accreditted biomedical scientist, you can do this in a lab as a trainee biomed, and i think takes a year o complete, or some courses have a placement year where you can gt your accreditation.

This is a very odd thread (three odd, scattergunned, threads infact).

According to your post here, you already have a first.

Care to explain?

Many uni's do year placements, most have really good links to big labs across the world, placements with companies like GSK generally have to be applied for off your own back. I doubt you'd get paid that much, remember that you would still be a student!
If you want to work in the path lab, IBMS accreditation is really important, also it means that you have something to fall back on if you dont get onto a GEP med course (which i assume by your post is what your looking to do)
