I noticed that if I'm washing my hands and the temperature goes very high I don't feel the pain straight away. I pull my hands out and literally wait a solid 1-2 seconds to feel the pain in my hands.

Does this happen to everyone or is it just me? like wtf

This is normal. It takes a while for the signal from your hand to reach your brain.
