Both have such a huge variety of different music, I don't think I could ever make any case for one over the other.

British generally. Seems to have produced more stuff I relate to. There are a few exceptions like Tom Petty and Iggy Pop though.

Most of my favourite music is (I think) British, but I also love some American. I wouldn't say all British music is better than all American music, or even most. Looking at my windows media player, which isnt all my music, most of it is British, some is American, some is Canadian, some is Irish and I think thats it.

Both... more British music though I think. I don't really think about what country music I listen to is from though.

I'm not really in to much American music, yeah I'm sure it's good and all but I just can't relate to it so I don't listen to it. I once got into an argument with a friend who said that I'm too dismissive of it but I don't care, I just don't think it's as good.
On the other hand there are a fair few American bands and artists that I do listen to, for example The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Bob Dylan, The Strokes, MGMT, Cold War Kids... But in comparison to the hundreds of British bands and artists that I love, theres no contest for me.

British music.

The Smiths. Queen. Oasis. The Who. The Kinks. The Jam (Paul Weller). The Beatles. David Bowie. Blur. Radiohead. The Libertines. The Rolling Stones. Stone Roses. Pink Floyd?

Case closed.

Finnish! :p:

But as that isn't an option, I would say American as I can think of a couple of very good bands I like that are from America (e.g. Kamelot , Iced Earth, Symphony X) but can't really think of anything from Britain.

British overall. Although the huge amount of indie bands is slightly sickening. Also what is with some bands thinking they are in the 70's or 80's, like the Hoosiers.

British for some genres
American for others (i.e Timbaland, good r'n'b)

It'll be very hard for U.K. to produce artists like Usher
Fortunately.
