Help on National Insurance Number while working. PLEASE
Hello everyone, I am from Italy and recently started working in the UK. As I just found a place to live, now I am looking in how to make my national insurance number. After reading the internet, people say it take up to 8 weeks to get the card, and I am afraid I might be heavily taxed under the emergency tax for my 1st salary (which I really need to pay rent and everything). I have two questions: Can the emergency tax be refunded? And if having the interview scheduled, can I have a provisory national insurance number to inform my employer, so I can get my correct pay (and taxes) while waiting for the card to come?
