I’m considering studying in a French university, but I’m not sure which one. Where would be the best place to study history? Also, is it worth it to live in Paris?

French universities in themselves are not great because they cannot select their students. You might be more interested in the Grandes Ecoles, which are the elite institutions of French higher ed, but they are subject-specific, and none does history. One of them, Sciences Po focuses on the social sciences so there will be some history but you may not be interested in that, also getting in is way tougher than gaining admission to almost any UK uni excluding perhaps Oxbridge. If you are just looking at universities, I suppose La Sorbonne’s History Faculty is quite good (but you need to be fluent in French).
