I'm starting at Lincoln Uni in September but have been really nervous about going to Freshers week. I won't be living in halls or uni accommodation because I'm living with my parents instead. I've never been "out to town" or anything before and I'm super worried about going out without any friends because I know most people make friends with people they are living with. Plus I'm not sure how I would get home etc.
Can anyone provide any advise or any first hand experience? Should I not bother to go?
TIA.

No, no. Definitely go to Fresher's week. Talk with people. People are scared and if you open up the conversation, that's charismatic.

Anyway, most of my friends, I met at class and societies and such, not in my halls - and I lived in halls.

How would you get home? Um... if you're living at home then you've got to be able to get to campus cost-effectively. If you get to campus, you can equally get home, right? Besides if you're living at home, do you know the neighbourhood well?
