yes! I applied for Sunderland or Wakefield and have either London or Reading as an option! I've gone for London as Reading is at least a 4 hour drive :/

I went for Reading, less hassle

I've been invited to an assessment but I can't tell if I'll be doing only the Intelligence Officer assessments as that was my only preference. I can't rule out having put Investigator down as my second choice as the application was so long ago that I can't remember. Does anyone know? I have no interest in the Investigator pathway and hate role-plays with a passion so hoping that's not included for me!

They will do assesments for both no matter what you selected as a preference in your application

Oh, that's annoying. Thanks for the info. Is it just one interview that's specific to your first preference or two interviews?

It's one interview with the same questions for everyone.

Is it one set of scenarios etc for both roles too?

Reply 591

Without saying too much there are multiple exercises covering both. They will mark you on each one aswell as the interview.
Depending in your scores they will choose which role you will be best at, they did say that once you have completed the role they feel is best for you, being intelligence or investigation, there is nothing to say you can’t swap once you complete the training. People have done it before they told us

The role plays are for the investigations pathway which everyone has to do. Same goes for the intelligence pathway which consists of a written exam.

Just had an email inviting me to interview after missing out in the first batch last year. I applied for Sunderland but the only interviews i've been offered are in London or Reading. Anyone else had the same thing come through today?

I did last week Lee, I'm off to Reading

Reply 595

Good luck for your interview
It's a bit too far for me to travel. I'm days away from starting a new job anyway so not feeling too bitter about the locations.

Anyone from South West waiting? I feel really stuck in limbo, Looking at renting my own studio apartment and I feel so stuck not knowing when the interview is and feeling unable to move on with my life

Reply 597

Anyone from before received any news on a start date? Or been offered a date for a medical? I sent off my preference for medical location two weeks ago but not heard anything back since

Reply 598

Yes, and I was invited to an assessment day earlier this week - it's in London on Saturday. Don't give up hope!

By medical do you mean substance test?

They emailed me asking me for location preference and they booked me in on the same day.

No I’ve had my substance test but I got emailed asking where I would like to do my medical. Don’t know if everyone doing the intelligence/investigator pathway has a medical or only if you are going to be working in different positions such as investigating cse or If you have something on your occupational health form that they want to discuss if that makes sense?
