I believe it was just proficiency in Microsoft programs and an interest in technology. I think you can Google the program and bring up some older adverts as a point of reference https://www5.i-grasp.com/fe/tpl_capita88.asp?newms=info33

Thank you,

I was reading through a few of them, guess i was just surprised that was all you needed! I just assumed a fitness test would be involved in some form:smile:

Hi - for those who applied for the IOTP trainee intelligence officers / investigator roles and have conditional offers subject to vetting and medical etc., have you been told what your exact role will be beyond “trainee intelligence officer” or “trainee investigator” and the location? I haven’t and am assuming I won’t know until I have been given a formal job offer but I just wanted to check I wasn’t the only one! I’m intrigued to know as I’ve heard roles can vary considerably.

I got my conditional offer under Threat Leadership, but there are multiple areas under Threat Leadership. I’ve not been told exactly which area I’m going into

Hi
It was last August I submitted my application, but from memmory there were no real edicational requirements. I personally haven’t been to uni and have only GCSE’s educational wise, but have 10 years plus of working experience.
The application stage is competency based, so giving written examples of things such leadership, working as a team, things like that. There was also a situational test we had to pass, showing certain situations and asking what you would do in that situation.
In relation to physical assessment it’s not like the police. It was just checking your balance, blood pressure, lung capacit, hearing and sight.

Thank you, that clears it up perfectly.

Has anyone received a newsletter this month or had a indication when they might start appointments for the substance tests now lockdown is slowly being relaxed?

Haven’t heard anything but I find it a bit odd how they cancelled substance tests when police officer medical have been going ahead! (I know this because my partner had one)

It's because the NCA is part of the civil service so places like HMRC,HM Prisons and Border Force have all had to place all recruitment and training on hold but the police have been following there own advice and carried on

Hi all, has anyone had a medical and psych test done over the phone recently and heard anything since?? I had both done on the 23rd of April and haven’t heard anything since then at all.... I don’t think I have anymore hoops to jump through so was expecting some sort of comms pretty soon after those assessments.... anyone else any further ahead with a proper offer with start date etc?? Thanks

Hi, I had my assessment centre middle of March, was put in the candidate pool a couple of weeks later, then received and completed my vetting forms, and then was given a provisional offer last week, which I was very happy about as was expecting a longer wait.

Just wondering how the medical works over the phone? I was under the impression it involved various tests like sight, hearing etc.

Just received my conditional offer, does this mean my vetting is cleared? Just I didn't get a notification to say this.

Congratulations!

Looks like we are running on the same time frame. I wonder when we will hear about a psychological assessment and the substance testing.
I checked the UK vetting portal Friday and my checks are now completed but no idea of the outcome.

I've just received an email booking for me in for a telephone medical and psychological assessment in the next couple of weeks. How do you access the vetting portal?

Congrats Lily, great to hear progress is being made :-)..... when did you apply?? Were you on roughly the same timescales as me?? Thanks

Ooh what did the email say? It is the username and password you created to submit. If you google UKSV portal it comes up.

Ah ok, I wasn't sent a link for that portal, I'm assuming this is because I already have security clearance in my current job.
The email just confirms the appointment date and time and some of the questions they will ask.
And I got Warrington, which was my first choice so very happy! What about you?

Ah! That will be why as you already have clearance. My clearance isn’t high enough in my current job. I applied for Wakefield, that is the one I was offered. Hopefully I pass the next hurdle and get through.

Good luck Bexi, I’ve got my conditional offer for Wakefield now 😁 fingers crossed for us both to get through to the start date stage soon!

Oh have you! That’s great well done. When did you get the conditional offer? I received the provisional offer last week. Just the medical, psychological and substance tests left now.

Got a conditional offer for the other end of the country last Weds so queried it & they admitted it was an error. Received & sent back my proper one for Wakefield this afternoon. Did a substance test for another role back in September, not sure whether they'll need me to do it again. Occ health form didn't mention a psych test, so hopefully just medical to go.

Oh fingers crossed for you. I’m hoping it won’t be too much longer. Just want to know now if it’s a yes or a no! Be nice to not join as the only newbie. Have you gone for intelligence or investigation?

I got my conditional offer today for a post in Warrington (not a trainee post though). How long from conditional offer did it take for people to get start dates?
