I assume that's the pre employment pathway selection? I did my one in July. I'm still waiting for PEC following the assessment, which they promised.

Wow, that's mental, I had assumed the July lot had been through PECs by now...I would hope that once these final AC/peps have been done that it should begin, and that they're looking to do it all at once. Any general advice for what to expect? And do you don't have to reply but what region did you select and which pathway are you aiming for?

It all became a mess after the election. Honestly it's been a pain in the ass, because I spent half a year on this. Honestly, it's mental. In November, they said that they're doing a workforce planning exercise because of cost-cutting initiatives for CS.

Update: I did south west and my preference.was intel analysis as I got prior experience in that. Plus it was fun doing the PEPs for that.

No need to worry about the PEPs. You got the job, it's just seeing what pathway you'll be best suited for. See it as part of pre-employment checks. Secondly, it's two written exercises and a role play interrogation. There is no pass or fail nor are you competing with others. They will explain all to you in due course. Don't worry about, it's relatively simple.

Hi there, bumping an old thread but does anyone have their assessment centre coming up for the NCA ODP?

How long is it till you have your assessment centre? I’ve also been waiting since July to hear my result!

Me too as well. They even told us that we will start PECs while we wait. And still nothing

Lots of issues with the NCA. Imagine if you’ve been waiting this long for PECs etc, what it’s actually like in the job?

Drs Hawley and Beizsley have written about it

I read that article before. Even worse budget changes to civil service complicate it further. However, they have a retention problem, so they're desperate for new recruits.

it depends what region, because each region started posting for vacancies in different times. It's quite decentralised. But I think it's just the recruitment freeze due to change in government complicating these matters.

How did you find the assessments ? Did they give any indication of timelines for results ?

For me, they said we would start PECs, with postings occuring from November. However, I did it during election season, so the timeline has messed up. I tried to seek an update, but they couldn't tell me. So it's a mystery when results or postings would occur. We just have to wait unfortunately.

I applied for this in the summer of 2023(July), had my interview in November 2023 and then my assessment in May 2024, everything went fine, I told them my preferred location and was told that it was fine. Fast forward to July 2024 I received an email confirming my pathway but still had to wait to get my PECs done, it was in November in 2024 that I finally got the email confirming that I had passed my PECS. However during the end of November 2024 I got another email about the NCA undertaking restructuring and that they are unable to give me a timeline on when that will finish but I'm in the pool and will be contacted if there is an update. Strangely since July 2024 the civil service job website says that I have the job so who knows what's going its been radio silence ever since November 2024.

Interesting! I had my interview in Feb following application in December 2023. I did my assessment in June 2024. Told I would do PECs but received an email in July saying there were delays. Fast forward in November, I got the same email about restructuring. I never received any confirmation regarding my pathway, even though they told me they would decide. So it seems you're a step ahead haha.

Any updates on ODP? Or are we all waiting for updates?

The retention problem is the red flag unfortunately

Waiting. I haven't chased them for a response yet. My AC was 13th Feb, I'll start emailing them from the 1st April asking about when I'll be hearing back.

Feeling verrrry un-optimistic tho, I hope my performance for the roleplay/investigation scenario will carry me. But also, the uncertainty around the Chancellor's spending review is real cause for concern as to when we'll hear back or if this campaign will even go ahead.

I'm the same, did my assessment in June 2024 and there's been pretty much radio silence since. It wouldn't be to bad if they would tell us what pathway we were successful at but they haven't even told us that. Appalling way to be treated to be honest.

Yeah still no updates from the NCA, mind you I haven't messaged them since receiving the email about restructuring in November 2024. I have been applying to other roles and places too if I get the contract for this role then good but I do feel like an afterthought due to the radio silence and lack of updates. Not really a good showing to prospective employees if I'm being honest.

A friend of a friend got an NCA offer. Met the team, got measured, suited and booted. Emailed regarding start date and got ghosted. 11 months later were told there weren’t any positions going. Run lol

Also I was told the NCA get a fixed recruitment budget from the Home Office. If they don’t use it, they lose it. So they hire for non-existent positions

If I'm correct front facing roles, like law enforcement and intelligence, would be untouched based on reeves outlined in her budget. Cuts are mostly to admin and policies. So it's likely we're safe. Also, if I'm correct, the AC was more to see what roles we were best suited for, rather than being pass or fail. They told me, at least, that I already had the job and that the AC was more of a formality. Usually the AC would be done during first year of training, so we select our pathway during our job rather than be allocated beforehand. But they changed it to streamline the process.
