hi so I'm new here haha just been scouring the forums but coming up short in terms of a solution.

I have been declared unfit for study 5 weeks before I'm due to start my course on the basis that they have received my medical records and a letter from my gp. may I add I haven't seen said gp in over six months..

I have a possible diagnosis of Bipolar 2 and they are just tweaking my meds at the min to get me on the right balance so I can be discharged. this is what occupational health have seen and have decided that I am unable to study.

has anyone ever been declared unfit but managed to have the decision overturned?? im hoping someone here can help me.

I've contacted the uni, disability services and my ANR to provide me with a letter which states that I am of sound mind and competent.

what makes it all the more laughable is that I went to my gp surgery today for a copy of the letter they sent out as they failed to send me a copy and then when I asked to see the dr that wrote the letter, they refused and said I could book a telephone app with another gp in 4 or so weeks. so it looks like they know they had no business commenting on my mental state when they don't know me, they could of at least asked me to come down so they could assess me before commenting on me.

anyway, rant over. help!? and thank you if you read this far!! 💓

Hi there
Just read your post on you being refused a place at university because of your medical history.
You doing right thing by appealing the decision ok

If you can provide proof that your condition is totally under control then I would expect you to get on the course that you was about to start shortly.

I can't speak for you but I know people like you who are managing to do a university degree and that there health conditions are under control and never had any problems with it.

Don't give up the fight for your place 😀
The board should have took everything else on board before making a decision, the occuloccupata people should be writing back to your specialists asking them about the medication levels you on and any foreseen problems with it. But that's the problem they are independent people who don't know you and only judging people with a piece of paper from your doctor's and any specialists at hospital before they make their decision.

Good luck with things ok.
