A lot of people find it a reasonable step up from National 5, but it is manageable if you work at it and have a good basis from Nat 5. How difficult it is is quite subjective- some people find maths quite easy, others really struggle with it.

the concepts are fine to grasp, but you learn things very fast paced and that can cause a lot of issues if you don't keep up with the work you're doing. if you revise and practice the style of questions in the exam, it's very doable. i had a friend who went from a D during the prelim to an A in the final exam.
