I have a conditional offer to study animation there, for 72 ucas points. I am terrified I've slipped a grade and may end up with 64 points instead, especially so because their animation course is the only one I've wanted to get onto for a long time. There are legitimate personal reasons behind this slip of grades. Should I email the uni about it? Or just wait? The anxiety is killing me, seriously.

You can let them know your extenuating circs.
What were your reasons?
I wouldnt say Herts are the most competitive uni out there.

Thanks for the answer, and lmao I know, but their animation courses are relatively competitive. The rest of the uni isn't really.

The reason is mainly an awful mental health situation that got extremely bad over my years at sixth form. I managed to keep myself out of hospital so I don't have much proof of it though.

Is it worth emailing the day before results? I don't want to come off as over anxious or something.

Talk to admissions, but realistically they will expect proof i.e a supporting letter from your GP. You need to look at it from their point of view. Use the phone now and follow their guidance. I couldnt see from a quick look a special extenuating circs system for applicants, so it may be informal.
