Ooh Boohoo I didn't think of there, thanks!
I recently ordered a boohoo dress and it arrived seethrough and was just a bit longer than my bum, the quality was also poor and it's gone straight back.

(I have several primark dresses that are more or less my daily wear that have survived several washes and are better quality than the boohoo dress I ordered for twice the price)

Newlook has some lovely summer dresses, they do student discount and aren't over-priced and dorothy perkins is always worth a look.

Apricot always have a lot of nice ones, but there aren't many stores and they don't have a website. So i don't know if you have one near you.

I agree with Bay. I got a lovely indian style dress which is different shades of blue patterns. I'm wearing it for my cousin's wedding and on holiday!

Don't diss the Mark of Pri! I have a really nice dress from there I got for £1

I saw a nice one online from George at Asda, a black sleeveless v-neck dress with a flowery pattern I do believe, fairly cheap, lookes quite nice. Florence + Fred (or is it Cherokee?) at Tesco also do nice cheap dresses.

Zara could be another bet, as well as New Look and Marks & Spencer's. Perhaps even Sainsbury's! Supermarkets do pretty decent clothing

H & M actually has some quite nice summer dresses in at the moment, and the quality of them is surprisingly not at all bad, way better then primark. Otherwise, if you have a bit more money, try monsoon, they had some really nice stuff in when I was in there the other week.
Thank you whoever repped me! - as to the answer to your question, combination of hanging around predominately with girls, well dressed girls at that, and from having spent quite a lot of time finding costumes for people in plays. Oh, and a mild obsession with clothes, but boredom with the limits of mens wardrobes.
