I've been offered a place at Dalton Ellis hall in Victoria Park. I'm a bit gutted as it seems that everyone says Fallowfield is the best place to be. I'm really worried that it'll be quite lonely and quiet in VP, as that's what I've read and heard from so many people. Does anyone have any opinion of this or know much about living in VP? Thank you so much x

Hi

Thanks for your message.

Please do not worry. The Victoria Park campus is a very popular area amongst students as it is a short walk from the main university campus and yet is a green and leafy area that doesn't feel as though you are in the middle of the city (even though you are!)

There are a number of hall of residence bars and sports facilities in Victoria Park and so it is a lively, sociable area so please do not worry about it being quiet and lonely. The halls are close together in this area which makes it easy to interact with students in other halls too which is great for socialising! Every single hall of residence has a Reslife Team who host various events for students to help you meet others in your hall, so I am sure you will have a fantastic time! Dalton Ellis, in particular, is a lovely hall of residence that we often find we receive a high number of applications for returning students for.

If you have any other queries or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Thanks,

Helen

I had a couple of questions. I accepted my offer in Dalton Ellis, an Ensuite/Shower room, and I paid the £400 prepayment. These £400 are deducted from the license fee, right? Also, I'm on the Sutherland block. I was interested, what kind of refrigeration is available? Do I have a fridge/minifridge in my own room? Thanks in advance.

Hi

The Advance Licence Fee Payment of £400 will be deducted from the overall cost of fees or the final instalment depending on whether you are paying fees in full or in instalments.

All halls have ample fridge facilities in communal kitchen areas. However, mini fridges are not provided in rooms and students are not able to bring their own fridges into their accommodation as they will not have been PAC tested and so breach health and safety regulations.

I hope this assists.

Many thanks
