I'm having my economics (AQA) and maths (Edexcel) papers remarked. My firm university has already rejected me on UCAS and I have been trying to reach to them via email and phone calls but to no avail. Is it true that they are legally obliged to accept me if my marks actually went up? Do I keep calling them or just wait for the results?
I only asked for one of the econ papers and one of the maths papers to be remarked as per suggested by my teachers. Conditions were A*AA with the A* being in maths - I got AAAA + A in EPQ (maths is only 3 marks off the A* boundary).
Your Firm uni may agree to give you a place if your review comes back with a higher grade but unfortunately, they are not obliged to. However, you should keep trying to contact them to make sure they are aware of the situation. What about your Insurance, if you have one, have they accepted you?

My insurance has also rejected me and I don't want to go into clearing... My teacher said that the uni must take me in if I meet the conditions before 31/8 - it's under UCAS terms of conditions but I don't know whether this is true. Do you know how often a maths remark results in an increase in marks given that it is an objective subject?
This is very stressful for you and I'm sorry, but UCAS can't force universities to abide by the 31 August guideline and in the past they have allowed unis to reject candidates in your situation. However, some unis will hold a place open for you while you're waiting for your priority review, so you need to discuss it with them when you can.
Your Firm may still let you in upon hearing about your grade going up (if it does) but you have to be prepared for the fact that they may not. If they say No, you could ask them if they will at least give you a deferred offer for next year.

The thing is, I don't know if my firm (UCL, Economics) knows whether I'm having a priority remark as they haven't answered my emails any of my phone calls. Teacher told me that as long as I have the automatic acknowledgement email as proof of delivery, I'm covered. How else can I contact them and what should I do whilst waiting for the results?

I would just keep trying to call them, I don't know what else to suggest. This is what they say on their website about remarks, which sounds like they do at least consider them
If you meet your offer conditions as a result of a remark then please get in touch by email [email protected] or by phone on +44 (0)20 3370 1215. Your updated result(s) should have come through to us from UCAS. Please remember that we will need to have received confirmation of your new grade(s) by 31 August 2019. We will not be able to consider remarks after this date.

Ok, and it also sounds like they would hold my offer until 31 Aug if I somehow successfully reach to them? How long do priority remarks usually take?

Just to confirm, does the exam board automatically send the results to UCAS and then from UCAS to UCL or do I need to email UCL my updated results as well?

I'm not sure.....@PQ may be able to answer when they see this thread or you could phone UCAS directly to check
Remarks sometimes come through from UCAS but I wouldn’t rely on that. It’s best to stay in direct communication with your firm (and any insurance/clearing university that is your backup).

My firm hasn't replied to my email nor picked up any of my calls. I'm currently not in the UK so does this affect why I can't reach to them?

They’re probably just busy. I doubt UCL will have anyone in over the weekend so relax and wait until Monday and try ringing again then. You have done everything you can for now.
Which board was the maths? If it was Edexcel your exams officer can download your script for you free of charge and you can go through the mark scheme yourself to see whether there are marks to be found.

Edexcel. My teacher said he would go through my paper himself but he's on holiday so might not have time. Should I request the script and go through it myself or should I just wait for the remark?
