Hey,

Does anyone have an A*/A method for English Literature. By that I mean paragraph structure or things to include to maximise marks. AQA. Othello, Gatsby, pre 1900’s, streetcar, handmaids tale and feminine gospels.

In terms of revision, what do you think is an effective way to revise for it?

Out of those I only did Othello, but I made sure to include a critic's opinion for most of the points I made (Assuming you have to for AQA, can't remember my board lol). Moreover, make sure to only include points you can counter evaluate and argue against your own judgement.

What gallsam said, but also try to think of contextual issues. What was society like at the time the author wrote the play/ book? (consider the impact of racism in Othello and the Great Depression in Gatsby). Can any of the key themes be linked together to create a more dramatic effect? (e.g. Blanche's quest for innocence is counterbalanced by her hypersexuality. Is Williams' being critical of women exploring their sexuality or is he critical of how society judged women for their sexual nature.)
