New Tech: iPad vs Macbook

Hi to whoever is reading this!

I’m starting my architecture course in September and needed help with what new tech I should buy.
I have settled that I need both an iPad, and a MacBook because my current laptop is practically coming to its end. I prefer Apple products hence why I haven’t mentioned products from a different brand.
As you could imagine buying both at the same time would be pricey so I needed some help on deciding which product I should prioritise first.
If current architecture students can reply that would be even better.
I would mostly use the iPad for drawing and hand written notes (maybe) and for entertainment reasons like YouTube, etc. The MacBook I need, to replace my current laptop and for taking notes during lectures and photo editing software + entertainment again.
Also if you comment which iPad and MacBook models would suit best for what I have described, that would be even more helpful!
