Would you date a man who couldn't drive a car?

I met a dude who is 42 and doesn't have a driving licence... Is this weird?

No.
No, but I date a woman who can’t drive and it doesn’t really bother me

Some people can’t afford it, some people have never needed to learn, some people can’t drive due to health or disability reasons. I don’t think it’s that unusual
My mum only got a car quite recently, she could only afford it now.

I'm not sure why it'd be that important.
I mean, not everyone likes the idea of driving. I wouldn't rule someone out just because they didn't drive.
I think it is important to have the skill and expertise to drive. You can buy a car when you need it or can afford it. Driving is an essential skill.

Probs not if you live in London though tbh
it is good to have a small carbon footprint

yes. why not. someone already mentioned that not everyone likes the idea of driving. for example I don't drive because I don't like it. I'm professional passenger 😁

No, I wouldn't date a man whether he could drive or not.

This is an obvious answer that I won't give.
I can't drive (mainly because a condition I have makes it too difficult for me and unsafe really) so of course I would.

Lol, if you say so. Oh wise one. It's not like people can go their whole lives without a car. especially when public transport/hire is v good and is probably a better option when there's lack of parking.
Let's see who that rules out then:

Stevie Wonder,
Lord Denning,
Albert Einstein
Bertrand Russell
Ray Charles,
Ghandi
Chairman Mao

All because they couldn't do what Jeremy Clarkson can.

Only if it wasn’t an inconvenience. If you live work and socialise in London for example, driving is quite unnecessary

I not only met a man who can't drive, I ended up marrying him. It is the thing that irritates me most about him. His utter refusal to learn. He does however have a full licence in back seat driving.
I didn't bother till my mid 30's. I live in a city...so private vehicles are restricted and public transport is almost always going to be cheaper and faster. I only learned in the end as I kinda fancied the novelty, it's considered essential to advance in my career and I suspected the criteria was only going to get tougher.

There are things that crop up where you simply need a private vehicle though...my mum went into a somewhat rural hospital long term...public transport is a 5 hour round trip but maybe 70 mins by car, no contest and I wouldn't have been able to rely on the goodwill of other drivers forever. A number of my friends who recently had kids are finding it near essential as well, they need to carry around so much stuff that public transport isn't a good option (unless you're on of those prats that tries to squeeze down a train carriage with like 5 backpacks on)
