Student finance

I’m starting uni on 21st September and I’m wondering when I’ll need to have opened a student bank account. Sheffield say I need to pay a deposit of £150 by 20th August and so they are asking for card details. However it also says that this is going to be the method of payment for the accommodation but won’t that be from my new student bank account when I open it?
If you can I’d open it now as it can take time for things to be approved. As for the card/bank details you should be able to change these to your new account when you open it, if your changing your existing account to a student one then your account details often remain the same so you wouldn’t need to change anything
Ok thank you I’ll try sort it all out today. I’m not actually sure whether I’m going to stay with my current bank or if I’m going to go to one with a better offer or something.
