No, they're allied healthcare professionals.

Opthalmologists are doctors, however.

No. An ophthalmologist is a doctor of the eye.

Similarly, a Diagnostic radiographer isn’t a doctor. They are allied healthcare professionals. But a radiologist is a doctor.

optometrist without a phd is neither an academic nor medical doctor

optometrist with a phd is an academic doctor but not a medical doctor

ophthalmologists are medical doctors and can be academic doctors if they have a phd.
