Hi I needed some advice on where I can start my independent academic journey on learning about the basics of engineering. I want to be a radiation protection engineer but have no prior knowledge in engineering/design however I hold a relevant degree in radiation safety.

Does anyone know any online courses or useful experience I should gain before trying to apply for jobs. Would be very helpful thanks.

When you say "independent academic journey", do you mean self-studying a whole course?

I think you'd probably need to study about the industries where a radiation protection engineer would be needed (nuclear, and maybe medical?). Try searching for courses on safety engineering, risk assessment, or reliability and maintenance.

Hi, yes im just finishing up my undergraduate degree and doing some extra basic engineering learning on the side. Im hoping to do a masters in nuclear engineering but im not sure if my degree is relevant enough for me to go into that field. Or if employers would hire me if I had a msc in nuclear engineering but no bsc in a strongly related field such as physics, civil or mechanical.
