I've finished 3rd year Geology and Physics at university now but I still haven't got the hang of extra reading. I'm taking a gap year to sort this out. My grades have been at a 2.2 standard because I have time management issues and a mental health issue for the past semester. I wonder how many textbooks do you need per module? I usually study from the internet and a core textbook only per course. Maybe that's too little.

Reading a few extra books per module will help you gain a better understanding of what you are learning, broadening your mind and can be useful for assignments. If your lecturer hasn't given you a recommended list of reading books, you could look at the bibliography in your core textbook for more reading, or explore books that are relevant to the topics at your library.
