MPharm at UCL

I recently got my firm place confirmed at UCL to do MPharm in September. I created this forum in hope to see what others achieved to get into UCL to do the course. Similarly I wanted to hear from current student experiences and what to look forward to before starting the degree.
Also if there is anything you’d recommend purchasing before beginning will be helpful.
Thank youuuuu.

Heyyyy!!! Aim to get some work experience at a community pharmacy, it will help you a lot to determine whether pharm is the right thing for you!
Start reading into the GphC standards for pharmacy professionals, it would be good to become familiar with them and you should start thinking about how you relate to the standards and what qualities you think make you suitable for pharmacy; for example do you enjoy learning about new discoveries? Try to become familiar with more recent news of medicine (but not too much if you dont want to). For UCL after you apply the process includes a simple test, and if your test is good they will invite you to an interview where they just want to know about your qualities (but that will all be in Year 13). So for now, try do your best to research pharm. Maybe become familiar with the university as well as they often ask why you want to study there. Good luck with everything!

thank you so much for your reply back i have been practically begging every pharmacy i go to insite from the local pharmacy to pharmacies in tesco, asda ect but no one has been taking me in☹️ but i have applied to the NHS work experience now so hopefully i can get that. i am afraid that the life of a pharmacist would be too mundane and boring for me. what else can you do when your in the real world to tackle this. THANK UU

Hello, I am also a Y12 who is planning to apply for pharmacy in Septemeber and I just wanted to know what the application process was like for an MPharm degree. I have been reading up on some university websites and they state that they are looking for candidates who 'play and instrument' and do lots of 'sports' but I haven't done that and i'm worried that it may affect my application. So I was wondering what work experience and super extra curiculars did you do to get into UCL?
