Ever wondered what it's actually like to get an organ transplant?

Maybe you're intrigued by what happens in the procedure, or recovery afterwards, or how it feels having been given the gift of an organ when yours aren't working properly?

We're having a Q&A with Hannah, a 25 year old student who was born with cystic fibrosis and received a very rare heart and lung transplant at Great Ormond Street Hospital 14 years ago, and a NHS Blood and Transplant Specialist Nurse on just this. They'll be answering your questions about organ transplants and donation, and what it's really like.

So, now's your chance! Pop you questions below by Wednesday 21st at midnight, and Hannah and the Specialist Nurse will answer them by the 2nd September - with an article being created with your questions for Organ Donation Awareness Week.

Is it true that even if you're registered/want to donate your organs, if your family says no, the doctors can't proceed?

What's the after care for a transplant? Do you need to have yearly check ups? After X years are you just released?

Hope you're doing well :hugs:

This is a great idea :yep:

For Hannah- How long were you waiting for a transplant before you got one?

For the specialist nurse- What's the most challenging part of your job?

For both- What's the one thing you wish people knew about organ donation?
