Personally I started around April but that was only because I’m okay with getting B grades etc. If you’re aiming for A’ s etc then start earlier perhaps.

Christmas holidays. However unless you keep going over content continuously after that, it’s pointless to start too early as you’ll just forget it all.
I’d recommend Quizlet to check that you still remember everything

Year 10. By year 11, I knew what revision techniques worked for me and which didn't.

I did all the homework and did revision the night before for any class tests (and year 10 mocks). I did hardcore revision for year 11 mocks and then kind of slacked off until about April. I was doing well though in my classes so I wasn't worried, and I did pretty well at the end. If you wanted all A*'s though I'd say start revising for year 11 mocks and then keep it up (we had the mocks in November btw).

Chill out and enjoy your last few years before you have no life around exam time. Once your in y11 it doesn't stop barely until end of y13.

I’d always been revising lightly but I started properly halfway through February after atrocious mocks.

A couple of weeks but I did all my homework and paid attention in class, that was pretty much enough, did little at home.

Even though I’ll just be starting y9 I’m going on holiday and missing the first two weeks of school. Will I need to catch up as this is the start of my GCSE’s? Shall I just read all the CGP books I’ve got?

Honestly? I barely revised. As far as I remember, I revised for Maths a month or two in advance and for science a couple of weeks before the exam. Everything else was the bare minimum of work.

I probably could have done a lot better had I started revising earlier... 🤷

Yes I guess you will need to catch up. Just enjoy the rest of your holidays and ask your teachers what they want you do to when you get back. If you really want to you could read the books, but they won't cover that much in two weeks at the very start of the year anyway.
