Hello
My son was predicted a 7 in art but has got a 5
We are not sure if this is good overall or not as the grades in last years art gcse were overall low.
Does anyone know what the average grade was this year at all?
We are possibly going to ask for his work to be re-graded

Hi, a 5 is equivalent to a B/C so your son did well! It may be worth looking at how many marks he got overall before regrading as there is a risk that the mark will reduce. However, with Art, some of the marking can be subjective so if you go for the regrading, there is a chance it could be marked higher.
Good luck!

Best wishes,

Depending on the examining body, it might not be possible to have the exam remarked unless the whole class is remarked. We're having the same issue with AQA Photography. All marks were awarded by the school (her teachers) which means they're subjective. I spoke with the Head today and she said the school wouldn't support a remark because the whole class would have to be submitted to AQA. AQA have confirmed this.
