What are your favorite games to play to relax and genuinely enjoy?

For me, any quiet sandbox game is good. Stardew Valley with its fun characters, diversity of things to do and the amount of time I can pour in is alarming. Minecraft is having its resurgence, and I'm glad it did! With the options for survival or creative, I can literally start a world and never play two the same way.

Broken Sword was oddly relaxing.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided is the cosiest game I ever played. I specifically remember a rooftop apartment at night, bathed in neon, a sofa with the TV on, and a balcony outside with people quietly having conversation. That was when I turned it off and slept soundly.

Stardew valley is always a winner. I really like Tetris Effect, especially in vr. After two minutes of play you forget all about your crappy day as your conciousness becomes consumed by the falling blocks and pretty lights.

Dynasty/Samurai Warriors.

Slaying thousands of peons with ease is a great stress relief.

SimCity from all the games I had. Build cities up and make the citizen happy is both relaxing and addicted.

Space games are really good for this. The X series, particualrly X2 and X3, has that relaxing exploring and incredible soundtrack. But also games like Homeworld have a great vibe and acoustics.

If a point-and-click puts you on edge, you need to lower the caffiene.

I only play a couple of games, and did recently start playing minecraft again. Building in creative and mining in survival are things that I really enjoy doing. Building in minecraft is very theraputic. Like you said, sandbox games are great because you can do so many different things.

I try to replay a Final Fantasy once a year. This year is 8, with the remaster.
