Hi, my college made an error on my UCAS application and under-predicted my grades as AABB. (Maths, Economics, Furth Maths, Physics) . I was told A*AAA and applied to Unis looking for those as a minimum. Obviously those unis rejected me. They admitted the error and contacted the universities but they said they would not reconsider. II got A*A*A*A and have a place at Manchester Uni doing economics but I think I can get a place at the unis I really wanted to go to (LSE, Warwick, UCL). I've asked them and they don't have spaces this year.
So what to do? I would like to work in IB or finance in general so do I defer and reapply or take the Manchester course...
Thanks in advance!

I might be a bit biased since I’m going to start Warwick econ this year...
But as long as you have something planned for your gap year then I would 100% reapply to LSE/Warwick/UCL
Have you called unis like Nottingham/Bristol/Durham tho? They are all strong in econ too and if they gave an offer I’d consider it, especially if a gap year wasn’t very appealing

You can't both defer your Manchester place and re-apply next year. However, given your A-level results I would suggest rejecting Manchester and shooting a little higher next year.

Thanks MinPlusMax, yes I have looked at those but they just don't appeal. Thanks for the advice
