I’m considering buying a new MacBook Pro, as my current model is now 6 years old, and the battery isn’t lasting as long, and it’s starting to flicker when watching videos etc. I would get 160 quid discount on a MacBook Pro through unidays, and they are currently doing free beats headphones worth 250 quid which I would sell on because I wouldn’t use them. The question is should I get a new MacBook now and take advantage of the huge discount or should I run the other one into the ground?

I'd get a new battery and a new screen or screen connector (or live with the flickering).

These items should be cheap and relatively easy to fit/ Google for instructions / youtube videos showing you how to do it.

Your MacBook doesn't have the annoying butterfly keyboard that a brand new model would have.
