Why should I study Mental Health Nursing at Bradford? Watch
Today I'm asking the question...
Why should you study Mental Health Nursing at Bradford?
I could go on and on about how great the course is, but I think you'd rather hear a student perspective on the matter
I have a student profile from Bsc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) student Amelia
"I've always had an interest in Mental Health from my own experience, friends experience and psychology. I thought 'you know, I'd really like a more rewarding job where I can actually give back and help people.'"
"Most of our placements have been an average of about 10 weeks long. I've been at a specialised dementia care home...I then went to an acute mental health setting, for when people are detained under the Mental Health Act, or come in as an informal patient when they've hit crisis point..."
"Then I did a placement with a specialist community team which had a fairly small caseload of people who needed intensive community support over a long period...After that, I put in a request which was approved to go to the eating disorders unit at Leeds...In final year, I requested to go on a placement with the drug and alcohol team"
"I didn't appreciate how academic the programme would be. I've loved it actually, I can't wait to come back to education and do more study and I'd love to do a PhD one day, but I didn't think I would've thought that at the beginning."
Don't stop reading there though, Amelia shares a lot more about her experience at Bradford here
Did you know we still have places available on our Nursing degree courses starting in September 2019?!
Are you a working Healthcare Assistant with more than 2 years' experience? Did you know that you can also apply to these courses with an NVQ in a health related discipline?

The Universities forums get a lot of questions that are unanswered. This is often because the OP's thread got missed - bumping threads gives them another lease of life and frequently results in someone seeing it and being able to respond
