Thinking of studying computer science but don't have the common A-Level subjects

I want to study computer science at Warwick uni with an entry of A*AA but my subjects aren't common to those applying to this course. Normally students do further maths, maths and computer science.

I do maths, economic and business with predicted grade(hopefully) A*AA respectively, I was wondering if I could get an offer with my subject combination.
AS-Level:
Maths-A
Economics-A
Business-B
I also want to know if you would need a good understanding of programming languages as I know only the simple aspects and I'm currently tryna improve it.

Thanks

Just an idea - If you're set on Warwick, why not also check out their Cyber Security degree? Has much lower entry requirements and still a lot of comp sci focused modules?
Well if you look at the site, they just require Maths ,so you'll definitely get in with those subjects and predictions.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with the other poster, don't go for Cyber Security unless that's what you definitely want to do. CS is better in almost all cases as it gives you the breadth, and you can specialise in a certain aspect of CS after you learn more about it.

Thank you for the reassuring response, I will try visit the open day and see what it's like and fully clarify the question. Hopefully it's the same response as this:smile:

No worries, but the website literally only lists A Level Maths as a specific subject. Sure, FM might be looked at favourably, but you 100% will get an offer.

Oh I totally agree straight CS is a far better option, I did straight CS for undergrad and a general MSc too as I think that the variety is good and many 'specialist' undergrad degrees can be pretty bad, but the Cyber course at Warwick is very good and where their CS requirements are pretty high its not a bad back up if they don't happen to meet the grades. My post was just in case the OP was set on going to Warwick being a bit of an easier way in and still doing a similar course.

Hi, I think imma stick to CS as there's more spread out modules. Maybe I might choose MSc cyber security later on. Thanks though.
