I didn’t do well on AS due to a death in my family during exam time that caused me a lot of stress but I’m dropping a subject and due to my assessments I’m hoping to get good predictions.
Will unis look at my AS or my predicted grades and will I be at a disadvantage due to my bad AS results.

They’ll look at them but for the vast majority of courses almost all applicants get an offer.

You MUST declare them. If you have extenuating circumstances then speak to your referee and get them to mention that in your reference (they probably will anyway to explain why your predictions are higher).
