I'm not an overall A student but I got A's in a lot of my subjects, I only started revising properly (as in like every day) in the February before GCSE's. My school said you should start revising regularly at the start of year 11, but should start revising not as regularly a bit before that. It's up to you really and how good your memory is, but I'd say definitely start revising regularly before or during the Christmas holidays before GCSE's.

you should start making your notes as soon as you start y11 so you have more to revise and to do practice papers later on

So I’ve got 10 9s, 1 8 and 1 7, and honestly I didn’t burn out with my revision. Make notes along the way, and try to learn them off by heart by the time you are doing the exams- I managed to learn everything at least by the night before off by heart, but I was careful to understand the concepts as I was taught them. I would say start revising properly at the start of year 11, pace yourself, and do a decent amount every day. In that way you won’t stress too much by the time your exams happen!!
