Audiology career

I’m thinking about changing careers to audiology via a masters programmer or NHS clinical scientist since I already have a healthcare degree (first class). I was wondering if there are any audiologists or audiology students on here who can tell me about the career prospects and the pros and cons of the job? I’ve researched these myself but would like to know from your perspectives

Thanks

Hi

I'm sorry you haven't had any responses. I've moved this to our healthcare section where hopefully it will get answered by someone in the know.

Can I ask what your degree is in? Healthcare seems generic

I am also planning to apply for the STP audiology programme, my degree was in Human Biology.

Having spoken to current trainees they say a lot of hard work is required as you're essentially juggling between masters work and the work place training. so it is not essentially just a 9-5 job, you do work out of those hours too.

pros: Great pay with fully funded masters and opportunities to progress

My degree was in diagnostic Radiography, which was pretty demanding we did clinical placement (including nights) when I was a student so juggling uni work and clinical is not a foreign concept to me.

When are you thinking of applying by? Have you had any work experience?

Hi, I’ve studied Bsc audiology from 2015-2018. I have worked in several NHS trusts. Message me if you want any information on audiology

Hi I would like to ask some questions. Firstly what university did you study in, also did you commute from home or stay there to study. secondly, do you have any tips or advice for those who are interested in studying the course. Thank you.
